The Professorship of Digital Health at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, invites applications for a fully funded PhD position (TV-L E13, 100%) at the intersection of computational neuroscience and artificial intelligence (AI).Ihre Aufgaben
About the project:The doctoral candidate will develop AI-driven methods for digital phenotyping based on ubiquitous sensor data to continuously track behavioral and physiological changes in individuals. These insights will be integrated with neuroimaging-informed, patient-specific computational models to inform steerable neurostimulation strategies. The goal is to optimize stimulation parameters across the patients longitudinal therapeutic journey, enabling personalized and responsive therapy for neurological and psychiatric disorders.

Notwendige Qualifikationen:
Qualifications:We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with the following qualifications:
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R)
- Experience with machine learning and AI, ideally in health or behavioral domains
- Familiarity with ubiquitous/wearable sensor data (e.g., physiological monitoring, smartphone usage)
- Background in computational modeling of neural systems (e.g., NEURON, The Virtual Brain, Sim4Life) is a strong plus
