The Koblenz University of Applied Sciences ([www.hs-koblenz.de](https://www.hs-koblenz.de/home)) with its locations in Koblenz, Remagen and Höhr-Grenzhausen offers teaching, continuing education and applied research with an extensive range of face-to-face and distance learning courses.
***Your tasks:***
- independent work on the above-mentioned research project in the field of “Artificial Intelligence in Bioinformatics”
- own academic qualifications obtained through a PhD in the subject area mentioned above
- close collaboration with interdisciplinary partners from the fields of medicine, biology and bioinformatics
- Data pre-processing, quality control, normalization and feature engineering for multi-omic datasets
- Design and application of novel methods for explainable artificial intelligence
- biological and clinical interpretation of the model results
- Participation in doctoral colloquia and the preparation of progress reports
- Writing academic publications
- Design and implementation of courses in the fields of mathematics, programming, machine learning, deep learning, genomics or epigenomics
- Co-supervision of student/research assistants
***Your profile:***
- completed university degree (Master or comparable) in the field of bioinformatics, computer science, data science, computational biology, biology, physics, mathematics or a related field
- Expertise in the field of artificial intelligence
- very good programming skills in C, C++, Python or R
- Sound knowledge of machine learning or deep learning
- Interest in interdisciplinary research at the interface of AI, biology and medicine
- excellent written and spoken English (minimum C1 level)
- good written and spoken German would be an advantage
- independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills
