The Responsibilities of Division 36 – Infrastructure Services – essentially encompass the planning, secure operation, and continuous development of central IT security components, network gateways, and infrastructure services, as well as a multi-forest, multi-domain, and multi-tier Active Directory environment and numerous certificate services and PKIs. Central infrastructure services serve as a highly available and secure technical foundation for cross-organizational data communication within the heterogeneous IT landscape of Lower Saxony’s state and local government administration. Due to the central role and extensive integration of infrastructure services within the state’s IT landscape, the department is involved in innovative programs, large-scale projects, and initiatives.
The team in Subdivision 36b is responsible for managing the infrastructure services and Internet access as part of a holistic IT life cycle management approach.
Your Responsibilities
- You will install, configure, and administer LDAP proxy services within the LDAP proxy server network.
- You will administer the DNS and the network infrastructure.
- You will manage PKI/CA certificates and design load balancing solutions.
- You will independently perform 2nd-level support tasks and actively participate in innovative programs, projects, and initiatives.
Your Profile
- You hold a college degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in computer science or another IT-related field or You have at least four years of professional experience in IT.
- In addition, you have very good networking skills and knowledge of the Linux operating system, preferably Debian.
The following skills are also desirable
- Practical experience in the DNS environment
- Knowledge of architecture and standards in the area of TCP/IP (IPv6, IPv4)-based networks (LAN, WAN, MAN), with a focus on network services in an enterprise environment (NTP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SSH, proxy services, PKI/X.500
- In addition, knowledge and experience with DNS/DNSSec in an enterprise environment on various platforms (Linux, MS Windows Server/Client) are helpful
- In addition to the technical requirements, you are characterized by a strong service and customer orientation as well as a process-oriented approach to thinking and acting.
- You also demonstrate a high sense of responsibility and a confident, independent work style. Furthermore, you collaborate well with a team.
- You are willing to be on call outside of regular working hours.
