The Neurogenetic/ Neurobiological Laboratory is inviting applications for the following position commencing at the

Academic research assistant (m/f/x)

Reference number W2929, salary in accordance with the German TV-L salary scale1, pay grade: E13 TV- L, duration

of employment: 1 year, volume of employment: 50 % of standard working time.

Job requirements and responsibilities:

 Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic, and

methylation microarray data, spatial transcriptomics data, and long read sequencing data

 Perform QC, imputation, normalization and preprocessing on array data

 Conduct differential analysis and pathway/ enrichment analyses relevant to neurogenerative and psychiatric

diseases

 Build and maintain internal tools/apps (e.g. R Shiny) for pipeline automation and data visualization

 Manage data storage, version control, and ensure reproducibility of analyses (Git, R Markdown)

 Collaborate closely with researchers and support manuscript preparation

The pay grade assigned to an employee depends on their professional qualifications and the number of years of service. Each pay grade is

further subdivided into levels. Entry-level employees with no previous experience will initially be assigned a level 1 rating. After one year at

level 1 of the E10 pay grade, an employee will move up to level 2. After a further two years, the employee will move to level 3, etc.

Your academic qualifications:

 Completed university studies in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology or related field, MSC/

PHD or currently enrolled in a Master's program with relevant experience

The successful candidate will also be expected to:

 demonstrate proficiency in R and/or Python

 have hands on experience with biological data analyses

 prior experience with microarray/ SNP data and downstream analysis preferred

 interest in clinical neuroscientific research
